About Ironyamato
Ironyamato started with a simple frustration: kitchen knives that look the part but quit on you when it matters. We wanted blades with backbone — steel you can feel working with you, not against you.
So we went back to the forge. Every Ironyamato knife is hand forged — heated, hammered and shaped one blade at a time. No stamping presses, no shortcuts. The result is a knife with real weight, real balance and an edge that stays honest through daily service.
Forged, not stamped
Mass-produced knives are cut from sheet steel and ground into shape. Ours are forged: the steel is heated until it glows and hammered into a blade, a process that refines the grain and builds toughness into the metal itself.
Built for cooks
We design for the people who cook every day. Full-tang construction, hammered finishes that shrug off sticking, and handles shaped to sit comfortably through long prep sessions. If a knife cannot earn its place on the board, it does not carry our name.
Every blade is backed by our lifetime warranty — because a proper knife should outlast trends, and probably outlast us all.
